The Crawfish Basin Trailhead provides access to Trail #1612, leading into the northern North Fork John Day Wilderness. Hikers and horseback riders can enjoy impressive views of Lakes Lookout, Lees Peak, and Angel Peak, along with scenic vistas of Crawfish Meadow. The trail eventually connects with the scenic Elkhorn Crest Trail #1611.
