The Crawford Path Trailhead (Rte 302) provides access to the historic Crawford Path, America's oldest continuously maintained hiking trail, spanning 8.5 miles to the summit of Mount Washington. This spectacularly scenic route, originally a horse trail from the 1800s, is a designated National Recreation Trail and includes a segment of the Appalachian Trail leading to the peak of Mount Washington. It's a key starting point for exploring the southern Presidential Range in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest.
