The Mayhill Lookout, originally constructed in 1935 as part of the Mayhill Civilian Conservation Corps camp, was relocated to James Ridge in 1967 and is now known as the James Ridge Lookout. This historic fire lookout featured an LX-24 cab atop a 48-foot tower, accompanied by a standard CCC-built observer's cabin. While the original Mayhill Lookout structure is no longer at its initial site, its legacy is preserved at James Ridge.
